Stray - Rescore

This project is a re-score of selected scenes from Stray, a game where the player takes on the role of a stray cat navigating a decaying cyberpunk city.

I chose four contrasting moments to explore different musical approaches, including Inside the Wall, Dead City, Battle with Zurks, and Chasing by Zurks.

Inside The Wall & Dead City

The first video includes two connected scenes: Inside the Wall and Dead City. It begins in the game’s opening area, where the player is still outdoors with the other stray cats. After a sudden fall, the player enters the underground and arrives in the Dead City.

For both scenes, I used vertical layering as the main scoring approach. This allowed the music to shift naturally with the scene change, moving from a more open and reflective feeling into the darker, more uneasy atmosphere of the city below.

Battle with Zurks

The second video focuses on Battle with Zurks, where the player enters a direct confrontation with one of the game’s main threats. Compared to the earlier scenes, this moment called for a more intense and unstable musical approach to support the pressure of the encounter. And i used phrase branching here.

Chasing by zurks

The third video is based on Chasing by Zurks, where the player is being pursued and must escape. Here, the pacing becomes much faster, so the music was written to heighten movement, urgency, and the feeling of constant danger.
